Spring Bathroom Organization

How to Clear the Clutter and Reorganize Your Space

Spring has arrived once again, and boy are we ready for it! Over the last year we’ve spent more time in our homes than anywhere else. We’ve also done more online shopping than any other year in history, so your home has likely become a storage unit of clutter. The bathroom is our specialty, so when it comes to this particular space, we know that you probably need a new system for organizing all of the hair and makeup products, family-friendly cleaning supplies, extra toilet paper and all of the other bathroom products you’ve accumulated this year. So this spring, open your windows, let in the fresh spring air and let’s get organizing!

Spring cleaning typically involves lots of scrubbing, sweeping and dusting. Once that not-so-fun part is over, how do we maximize space in our homes when we have so much STUFF? That’s when RiverRidge® Home storage products step into the picture and transform your space from cluttered to clean.

Reorganizing your home can be simple when you think of it as two easy steps. Step 1: Purge. Step 2: Categorize.

Starting the organization process in any space can feel daunting at first, but take a look at the video and our helpful tips below for a little inspiration to start your bathroom revamp process.

Ashland Bath Collection

Step 1 – Purge

Go through your bathroom items one by one and get rid of anything you haven’t touched in the last year. This might include half-empty soap bottles, makeup products you’ve tried but didn’t really like, expired medications, old/stained wash cloths, etc. Place these items in large bags labeled “Trash” or “Donate” and remove them from your home as soon as possible.

Step 2 – Categorize and Store

Begin sorting the remaining items into categories like extra soaps, miscellaneous toiletries, cleaning supplies, etc., then determine where you will store these items. Bathroom items you use every day belong close at hand like right above the toilet or on an open countertop or shelf. Items that you don’t use as often (extra towels, bathroom cleaning products, backstock shampoos and other soaps) should be tucked away behind closed cabinet doors to reduce the appearance of clutter. Consider placing larger groups of small items into small storage baskets or plastic trays for easier access to things in the back of the cabinet.

RiverRidge bathroom storage cabinets come in all shapes, sizes and styles. Browse our best sellers in each category below or visit our Bathroom Storage page to see the full assortment.

Over-the-Toilet Spacesavers

The wall space over our toilets is often overlooked and underutilized. Most of the time we cover it up with framed pictures or small floating shelves for decorative appeal, but don’t miss out on this opportunity to add extra storage to your space too! Create convenient hidden storage with an over-the toilet storage cabinet, and add a touch of personal style on the top or open shelves. Already have enough enclosed storage in your space? Go with a completely open shelf concept and add charming décor to your bathroom with the Amery Ladder Spacesaver or X-Frame Spacesaver.

Corner Cabinets & Corner Shelves

Most bathrooms don't have a ton of extra space for large floor cabinets or wide storage units. Corner storage is the best way to maximize storage in small spaces, without sacrificing style! When all you have to work with is a single corner, fill it with function with a corner storage cabinet or tiered corner ladder shelf. Pair the Somerset Corner Wall Cabinet with its Single-Door Corner Floor Cabinet counterpart to create an ideal bathroom storage station, or level up with the Somerset Two-Door Tall Corner Cabinet, complete with three open shelves and an adjustable interior shelf. Our Amery Corner Ladder Shelves also make a stylish addition to any space, with tiered open shelving for wash cloths, candles, lotions and decorative accents.
